Elana Jackson | Copyeditor & Writer

Writing is hard. Even when ideas start flowing, it’s hard to be sure that you’re writing what you really mean. As a copyeditor and writer, I work toward clarity. I polish and I craft. I meet folks where they are and take their writing to the next level of crispness. Sometimes, I need to focus on commas and word choice. Other times, I’m asked to completely rewrite a project or create content from thin air. I believe there’s a power in words. What I love most is helping people refine that power.

I learned a bit about working with words at DePaul University in Chicago, where I earned my B.A. with high honors in English literature and communications. I learned a bit more during the ten years I immersed myself in the fascinating field of advertising. In 2013, I launched Jackson Copyediting. I work on websites, product packaging, magazine articles, memoirs, and more. As an active member of ACES: The Society for Editing, I learn something new every day.

Why not? Because!”
